A fourth experimental alphabet based on squares nested in a five-by-five matrix. Rather than deleting squares from the matrix to generate the letterforms, this alphabet relies on the contrast between two tones. Again legibility has been compromised on certain letters but this may be an unavoidable consequence of retaining an essentially square alphabet. While the two-tone approach allows a better weighting on the E and F, this matrix lacks sufficient resolution to allow for a more balanced weighting throughout the alphabet.

Square Alphabet Number Four
A fourth experimental alphabet based on squares nested in a five-by-five matrix. Rather than deleting squares from the matrix to generate the letterforms, this alphabet relies on the contrast between two tones. Again legibility has been compromised on certain letters but this may be an unavoidable consequence of retaining an essentially square alphabet. While the two-tone approach allows a better weighting on the E and F, this matrix lacks sufficient resolution to allow for a more balanced weighting throughout the alphabet.
