I could claim, with some justification, to be all or any of the above having exhibited as an artist, published as a poet & trained as a graphic designer. None of these actually describe the complexity or multi-disciplinary nature of my practice. What each touches upon however, is the rather nebulous concept of ~graphology (by extension its practitioners — ~graphists).
~graphology in this context relates to the means, process and act of communication. Not limited to written or oral texts, ~graphology is both suffix and prefix to all terms originating from the greek graphé. An all-embracing term and philosophy that sees the interconnectedness / commonality / communality of the communicative process rather than seeking to contain / limit / constrict it within rigidly defined terminologies and ideologies.
I am therefore a ~graphist.
